About Dr. John Kim MD MPH
Dr. Y. John Kim is board certified in preventive medicine, medical acupuncture, and holistic medicine. He trained with Dr. Andrew Weil as a residential fellow in Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. He has also served as a board member for many integrative medicine organizations, including the American Holistic Medical Association. Dr. Kim has published many articles relating to acupuncture and integrative medicine.
Dr. Kim graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), where he was honored as a Howard Hughes Fellow. After attending medical school, he completed two years of Family Medicine Residency with the University of Wisconsin, finished his residency with the UCSD Preventive Medicine Residency. In addition, Dr. Kim completed the UCLA Medical Acupuncture Training and also has completed a Master’s degree in public health (MPH), focusing on health promotion. Dr. Kim served as the Dean of Integrative Medicine at Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley (AIMC) where he has developed integrative medicine programs in consulting, clinical services, and education.
Dr. Kim created the Integrative Health Studies Certification program at University of West Georgia in the psychology department.
